Music video confusion....

I hardly ever watch MTV, MTV2, etc. because most of the shows have little to do with music. That's not Earth shattering news. But I was thinking and wondering why bands even mess with making music videos anymore if nobody is ever going to see them? I remember the veejays in the 80s......does such a thing even exist anymore?

FUSE used to have Uranium and what-not, but I'm not even sure if that is on anymore. They seem to also be going down the no-music-video road.
