You need speed on emergency occasions. When they have to go to the hospital very qucikly, what are they gonna do?

Limiting technology is so damn Middle Ages.

The rationale for the ban cited in the article was CO2 emmissions rather than safety. If the sponsors play it up right it has a good chance of passing if all the global warming fervor is real over there.
I see in some article links below that the EU wants to put limits on the autobahn as well.

Well a few months ago in Belgium when it was extremely hot they limited the speed on the highways around and going to Brussels to 90 km/h to reduce sootparticles (i had to look that up , never heard it before i hope its correct) in the air. I must say at 90 i was driving a lot more relaxed than at 120-130 and there seemed to be less trafficjams. Also less fuelconsumption than usual. Maybe its not a bad idea after all
