Haha, yes it must be haunted. It's like it's fighting me on every little restoration or alteration I'm trying to make. Murphy's law is present at that house, for shure! That guy Murphy build the damn house, I'm sure!
Take a door frame, for example. I cut a hole in the wall for a door. Easy task. The frame comes pre-drilled with holes for the mounting screws. Cool. 3 holes each side. I have brick walls. Between bricks are mortar seams, right? I assemble the frame and align it in the door opening in the wall. Looks good. Now, where do you think the pre-drilled holes in the frame line up regarding the bricks in the wall? I have 6 holes to mount the frame, remember? 5 (FIVE!) god damn holes line up exactly with the MORTAR SEAMS! NOT THE BRICKS, AS I WANT TO. I CAN'T MAKE THE FRAME SCREW GRAB PROPERLY IN MORTAR! GRRRR!! Even using plugs, this ain't gonna work. The screws must enter a brick, if this is gonna last years. WHY is it like this? So, I drill 6 new holes in the frame. NICE! Now I have a frame that looks like it was hit by a mafia execution team!! :ROTF: For crying out loud, why did I ever start this ¤¤#"/%#! project.....

Bwahaha! I often wish I would have the "undo" function available when doing house work.
