    Hi all!

I'm a long time JCF-reader and just wanted to say HELLO!

I bought my first Jackson performer about 10 years ago.
Last year (with new job) my first usa-made Jackson.

Some of you, I think their names are "nazgul" and "shadowcat" & some others inspired me in ordering a Jackson Stars which will arrive next month (hopefully)

As soon as this thing arrives I will give you guys some Pix of my guitars

K, that's it! I'm looking forward to hang out here

    Cya soon!

    Welcome
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

      Welcome!

Yeah, I have a Jackson Stars RR-J2SP and I'm in a process of ordering a (semi)custom now from Ishibashi. I am kinda dissapointed with their slow communication, but we'll see. I hope I will be able to finalize the specs and order the guitar in about a month.

Did you order a production model or a (semi)custom? Which dealer did you choose? Ishibashi? What options did you change (if your ordered a custom)? How long have you been waiting? Tell me all!

        Hi! Thanx!

Yeah, I saw all the pix of your RR -> COOL!

Just like you, I orderd from Ishibashi. Communication was ok, they ignored my first mail but after the second one we nailed the specs within one week.

        I'm getting a KV-J1 semi custom.
It's semi custom because of a matching trans-black headstock and the 1-11/16 nut.

They promised delivery within 4 months > 3 weeks from today.

Cool. May I ask to which sales agent did you speak to? I got two replies in almost two weeks . Not to mention that I sent them 7 emails in that time! I also asked if they can make the non-recessed trem a few times but it seems like he just ignores my questions. I've written a bit "stronger" email two days ago, can't wait for the reply .

Oh, it seems that they got a lot of work to do at Ishi. 7 mails without an answer?

I think his name was Mai... something like that. I always talked to the same rep.

              What guitar are you getting?
Man, I got GAS for another one and the KV-J1 is not even here!

                It was more like:
                Me - Ishibashi - Me - Me - Me - Me - Ishibashi - Me - Me - Me
all that over the course of two weeks.

I contacted Ishibashi three times in the past (different stuff) and always got Daisuke to answer me :/. I wonder if there's a way to directly contact Mai...I think shadowcat also had Mai.

RR-J2SP with 1 11/16" nut (1 5/8" is killing me and it's the only reason for odering a custom), white binding, white pinstripes, MOP logo and hopefully a non-recessed trem.

BTW, did they give you any updates while the guitar was being built? Pics or something?

                  Wow, sounds really cool!
Yeah, I'm not a 1 5/8-guy, too. The MOP logo is also a custom thing on a RR-J2SP, hm? White bindings? Damn! Good idea!
BTW, do you know if they can do cracked mirror tops? I'm crying for a cm-guitar!

I think all reps at Ishi have one big pool e-mail add for international orders.
The mail add I'm writing to does not say "mai" or any specific name.

I know you can request pics from the building process. But I did not try...

MOP logo is available for all semi-customs and customs.

I don't know about the cracked tops. We have a member on this board who used to do some cracked mirror tops for other people. Maybe he still does custom orders. He's from USA though.

I think the same way about that pool e-mail add. I'm sending all my emails to [email protected].

Yes, now I remember... that's also the add I use.

Just try to write another request and start the mail with something like "dear Mai..." Maybe it works? He is really a cool guy...

I think I heard about that guy. *searching thread*

I'm gonna wait for the reply and then I'll see whether I want to contact Mai or not.

I was thinking about one other thing too...
                            Jackson Stars come with 1 5/8" nut widths....AND 2 3/16" butt widths.
If you change nut width to 1 11/16", does the butt width change to 2 1/4" automatically?
                            (1 11/16" and 2 1/4" are what Jackson have)

What other guitars do you have by the way?

I was thinking the same, I really don't know.
I told Mai to make sure, that all the widths are equal to an KV2.

My other guitars are a KV2 and PS3... Had a RR1 for a short time but had to let it go Oh, and I got some LTD stuff here... Just for practising

Keep me updated with your Ishi thingy, let's see what happens
