I think the sad part of this is the speculation thats going on. It is most certainly tragic when any innocent people die at the hands of someone that is unstable. What makes this worse is a young child being involved. I think it is tragic when depression causes someone to take their life. I think it is selfish when others are forced to suffer at the hands of the person that was ill ...
Why are we assuming Chris killed his family? Is it possible when he was called home for a family emergency that his wife actually killed him? Anyone remember Phil Hartman?
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes!~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
OK now there may be a hint of official word ...this was on Foxnews
Investigators believe Benoit, killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from Whitewater Country Club.

Good point. RIP........ Very very sad. My son is a big wrestling fan. He was telling me that Benoit and family were killed, I assumed it was another stunt like the McMahon thing. I wish it were. Horrible.
Its tragic that these talented wrestlers always die before their time I always wonder about the circumstances behind their deaths.
No fan of wrestling here, so i don't even know who you're talking about, but just from the commercials i try to avoid, i have to wonder if steroids don't play a big role in something like this?

Yes, I wonder that as well.
Eddie Guererro died a few years back, but he was an admitted former substance abuser, so that could have played a bigger part in his situation than steroids.
The Chris Benoit thing is strange. Considering him to be an "actor" in the whole wrestling "circus", he was a key player, at the top of his game. He recently "lost" his title to a relative newcomer. Maybe he was disgruntled? Nothing more than speculation on my end. A very strange situation, to say the least.
A currently running "bit" involves Vince McMahaon being "dead" from a car explosion. A pretty tasteless stunt, to say the least, but it will be interesting to see how they weasel out of that "gag" given that they now have a real tragedy on their hands.

Radio said he was on TV talking about the storyline of killing off the McMahon "character" and how the Benoit story was unfortunately real ...

I really do believe the wrestlers including Miss Elizabeth that have died in the last 15 years were all going to blow the whistle on the WWE or became disgruntle(contractual issues/needed to be gone) with Vince. I really do believe their deaths were all murders made to look like ODs or suicides.
My theory on the Chris Benoit murders was when they did the hit the family was home so they offed the wife and kid and instead of just making it look like a suicide they had to make it a murder suicide, I believe this was a screw up and the hitman came to the house at either the wrong time or the wife and kid showed up unexpectedly.
I believe Vince had ordered these and had been doing it since the late 80s after the steriod scandal as he could not afford another one, so with his power and connections had ordered hits on all these wrestlers.
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerro
Kurt Henning
Owen Hart(Blue Blazer) (made it look like an accident during a PPV, genious.)
Miss Elizabeth
Burtus Barber Beefcake
Etc, Etc...
All were murdered I believe but dont have too many facts to back this up its just speculation...
Truly sad. I haven't watched wrestling since I was a kid and figured out it was all fake, but I guess it doesn't really matter what the guy did for a living.

The way out of the "gag" was last night during the 3 hour tribute to Chris, they cancelled the "show" in San Antonio, kept the arena for the announcers/wrestlers to share their moments. Vince came out and said something to the effect of...
They have been acting out a "skit" of his demise, but tonight they had a tragedy that had no room for acting, for real life is much worse than what they do..or something like that. I'm sure you can find it somewhere. Anyhow, they let it be known, Vinces "death" was a goofy form of entertainment/soap opera that is now wrestling, and they truely were dealing with the loss of a friend. Actually, I thought that was one of the best parts of the whole night.
