Having lost my own Mother last month in a similar fashion, I know it's hard to watch someone slowly wither away like that.

God Bless you and your Mom, Lori, as well as the rest of Donny's family and friends, both here on the JCF and the local ones. May He grant you the strength He gave Donny to face his condition.

I was on my way to Alki (West Seattle) to see the Swanstroms when Knockin on Heaven's Door comes on the radio. So of course I get all teary eyed. Then after that a Buckcherry song comes on which I hate, but it used to be the lead off song on Donny's myspace page. So I'm thinking wow this is a little weird. But then the DJ comes on talking about the Kick in the Grass concert in which Buckcherry is one of the acts, so I'm thinking ok maybe just a weird coincidence.

So I've crested the hill in Alki and I'm thinking to myself that I've always enjoyed this drive to hook up with Donny because as you drive down the backside towards the beach, it opens up to a killer view of the ocean and the Olympics mountain range. So I'm just soaking it all in and thinking about Donny when, I kid you not, a McDonald's Egg McMuffin commercial comes on!

Donny, thanks for cheering me up bro!

We have been with Kristi's parents this weekend. On our way home, we stopped off in Pontiac, IL at a Taco Bell (there are no Del Tacos in our area) and had a taco in Donny's honor.

Rest in peace Donny. Try not to tear heaven apart, will ya?

Condolences to Donny's family... which obviously includes his family here on the board. He did me a good turn a few years ago - I blew a clutch in my firebird, he hooked me up with a great deal.

I wasn't as fortunate as many here to actually get to meet him in person, and that's something that I will always regret. RIP.

I'm sorry to hear, I went back and tried to pick up a bit more in previous threads but I haven't been very in tune to this outside of his post a couple weeks back.

Thank you for those of you who made his last days here a bit more bearable, Tim, Tommy, and anyone else who knew him and brought a little joy into his life. Very compassionate of you.
