Thought about Donny yesterday. Went out and had a taco in his honor. I miss the kid!

Wow, I just read the whole 22 pages of this thread
By the sounds of it Donny was a great man and how many people he has touched on this website proves that I guess for JCF we have our own shining star in the night sky, no matter what time, day or night it will be visible by one country or another, that star will be shining to the fullest just like the way he lived his life to the fullest.
Best Wishes to Lori, Denise, Brad and all of the Swanstrom/Nelson Family

Does Donny have a Facebook page??
Facebook keeps profiles of people who have died, though removes some features
NEW YORK (AP) — Death doesn't erase the online footprints that people leave in life and Facebook won't either, though it will make some changes.
The five-year-old social network will "memorialize" profiles of the dead if their friends or family request it.
Such accounts aren't new, but Facebook reminded visitors of their availability in a blog post this week.
Memorialized accounts are different from regular Facebook profiles.
For example, the site removes any contact information and bars people from logging in. The person's profile also won't appear in the "suggestions" section of Facebook, in which the site suggests friends to add. And only the deceased person's confirmed friends can find them in a search.Occupy JCF

Just dropping in to say hi....
I think of you guys every year this time and thank you guys for being such great friends to Donny.
For the question above, I did setup a Facebook account (he didn't have one - he had Myspace) in his honor and got a bunch of pictures up there for him.
Donny Swanstrom is on Facebook. Join Facebook to connect with Donny Swanstrom and others you may know. Facebook gives people the power to share and makes the world more open and connected.

Lori,
There is no need to thank us. Knowing Donny was a priviledge to us....to those that were lucky enough to get to know him. He had his own problems, but, never failed to chime in with good advice or some light hearted humor to help ease the moment. This was the kind of person he was. He put his own problems aside to help others that had issues that did not even amount to a fraction of what he had to deal with.
People like Donny are few and far between. I can't eat a taco without thinking about him. I remember those long nights in the old JCF chatroom just yucking it up with him. Making bets on how many times Jeremy would kick me out.
I am jealous of you in a good way. You got to know him, love him and hold him on a level none of us could due to the distance between us. I wish I had that opportunity.... and I am sure there are many more on here that feel that way, too.
I believe that if you carry the spirit of those that are gone, with you, and you share the love and life with others that was shared to you, they are never really gone. In fact, they have been integrated into other people's lives and in essence, live forever. -LouLast edited by LouSiffer; 07-01-2010, 09:24 PM." I do not pay women for sex. He was a great kid, funny, cheerful, even in the worst of times.
I'll never forget how unshakable he was when I spoke with him for the last time shortly
before he passed. You'd never know what kind of situation he was in by the way he acted.
And a big hats off to SeventhSon (George) and HippieTim (The apostle Timothy) for both spending time with him,
I think that's says a ton about both of them. Not helping the situation since 1965!

Lou that was really touching... thank you!
I also greatly appreciate Tim and George for spending some time with him right there at the end... I got to hang out with George a few times myself as well (he came out on Donny's birthday the year after his passing).
Twitch: for a small briefing on what happened -- he was diagnosed with chronic active autoimmune hepatitis at the age of 10 and had a liver transplant at the age of 14. He went in and out of rejection at least once a year after the transplant, but at 25 was in full rejection and either needed a transplant or he wouldn't survive. The doctors said there was an 85% chance it'd happen all over again even with another transplant, and he chose to let the liver go to someone whos life it would save. It all seemed to happen quickly and very suddenly, as he was working until June 1 that year, was admitted to the hospital, hospice came in about 2 weeks later and he passed on July 1.
He LOVED JCF and all the guys he met in here and I know he had the time of his life the year he got to go to NAMM and meet a bunch of you (with me even since I was living there at the time) and I thank you all for taking him under your wing.

Lori, your brother Donny was the real deal! His loss is so sad, but he made an enormous impact here because he loved music the way it is meant to be loved. His heart was truest of the true and we are lucky he spent time here. He truly lived and breathed rock and roll with a fire that most of us only wish we had. It was contagious whenever he posted though.
It's good to see you, God bless you and your family!Ron is the MAN!!!!
