  • I think donny knew his life was complete...... At Midnight on Sunday, about 30min before he passed... Crews started converting 12 7-11's into real KWIK-E-MARTs. Complete with Krusty O's, BUZZ Cola, pink frosted donuts, Radioactive Man comics... and squishees!!!! There is one here in Seattle, I need to go say hi to Apu for him!

    • Guys. Don't forget that Donny was a big fan of Bar-S meats. He was just a good guy that loved those hotdogs. He was the salt of the earth.
I am a true ass set to this board.

      • Rest in Peace Donny
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

        • My deepest sympathies to Donny's family and friends.

He was always such a good spirit here on the JCF. I don't think I've ever ONCE seen him snap at anyone. The guy was solidly grounded as a person.

I vaguely remember the JCF chatroom being insane when he was in there!

Funniest thing he typed on the JCF was "I can't do chat on my phone."

          He is very missed.

          • RIP Donny.

The JCF FF league won't be the same without you.

            • So late getting to this thread. Donny was a great "original". Can't say there was anyone quite like him and I'm gonna miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

              • Welcome Brad!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful memories and thoughts of Donny, and for your wise wise words to connect with your loved ones and make sure they know how much you love them. Kickasss.
                That is so very important.
It is quite apparent that your family rocks and that is nice to see.
Nice lookin' Warlock bass you've got yourself there, I think that is a wonderful idea to pick up and start playing. I can't think of any better thing to do!

That Kwik E Mart rules, btw.

                Cheers,
                Emmy

                  • Shit, I don't log on here much these days, but this is bad news. I just talked to Donny a couple of weeks ago when Tim called me from his place. Tim told me about everything and I just couldn't believe it. RIP Donny, I'll miss ya brother. The next muscle car I build will be dedicated to you.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

                    • I would like to share my condolences with Donnie’s family and the members here who have been a part of his life.

Even though I live not to far from where Donny lived, I never took the opportunity to meet him face to face. To be honest, when I first joined here I really didn’t care too. To be fair, I’m older and really didn’t think there would have been much of a connection. Not to be redundant, I kind of mentioned why on an earlier post on this thread.

Not that I am that judgmental, but by nature, especially on a forum you go with your gut.
I have realized that I made a mistake. He had bonded with members here that are old as dirt, like Tim, Sully, and others …  Guys that I think I could have bonded and shared cold ones with if we met face to face. They reached out and connected.

I will say this. I can’t think of anyone that had as much courage that Donny has displayed. He knew this day was coming a few months ago and handled as well as any man could. I am in awe of this once punk ass kid from Auburn! Believe me; I say that with all due respect. With the way he lived his life, there is something there for all of us to learn from. The real loss would be if you did not gain something with the way he lived his life.

                      Thank you Donny

Take your pictures down and shake it out
Truth or consequence, say it aloud
Use that evidence, race it around

                        There goes my hero
                        Watch him as he goes
                        There goes my hero
                        He's ordinary

Don't the best of them bleed it out
While the rest of them peter out

Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....
