Welcome to Cali! It was a beautiful 80 deg out there this morning. Couldn't ask for a better weather.

Why not visit the Carvin factory when you are down there in San Diego?

If you like the National Parks at all some of the coolest scenery in the US is in southern Utah: Bryce Canyon NP, Zion NP, the Canyonlands NP, the Arches NP, Natural Bridges NP, Capitol Reef NP, and of course that's the way to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon as well. Personally I'd skip Tucson and head from Santa Fe up to southern Utah and hit a few of those. There are also some cool places in NE Arizona like Monument Valley and some of the more famous slot canyons.

You really hittin' Santa Fe? Seems a little north of where you want to go and where your starting from...of course that's why they call it a road trip, right?

If you do hit Albuquerque and/or Santa Fe, and you like New Mexican food (trust me it's different than Tex/Mex...it's so much better), I can give you the names and directions to some really AWESOME places to eat.

            Edit:

Oh yeah, if you want to look at some awesome scenery, I suggest taking a detour through the Jemez Mountains (it's between ABQ and SF, a little out of the way though -- about an extra 1.5 or 2 hours).

              Yeah, its a scenic trip.
I want to try and do some gold panning .
And we def love Mexican/tex mex food.
The reason we are going to Tucson is that my wife's great, great grand mother was Indian from some obscure tribe and they seem to have a reservation there.

Please send over some info on that mountain area and those restaurants.
              That would be cool.

Also, I found out about a restaurant called El Charro... supposedly the oldest and best mex restaurant in the country...

that does make a real good reason to visit Arizona. The last time I went to visit my bro in Phoenix, we went to a place called "Horse-shoe bend". its the most amazing scenic/nature place I've ever seen! Its one of a kind. you got to go there! Also, be sure to make it to the place where the 4 states meet if you can. Arizona is full of Navajo indian places. you are gonna love it. Monument valley is amazing. ...and of course grand canyon.

Here's a pic of the horse-shoe bend I'm talking about... its a 1500 ft drop or something from where this pic is taken. I was feeling such a strong urge to "Jump"...

Yeah, hell yeah. We will try and do that.

And shit, the "jump" thing.. thats why I dont want to go to the Canyon.
                  But the wife does...
I dont like being up high places like that, tho they are beautiful.
I get that urge too. fuckin crazy......
Dont know if its gravity calling me or if Im that fucked in the head LOL!

Should be a great trip tho!
