  • Van Halen to tour this fall...

    From blabbermouth...

According to MelodicRock.com, VAN HALEN is preparing to hit the road in the U.S. beginning in September. The group's lineup for the trek is expected to include David Lee Roth (vocals), Eddie Van Halen (guitar), Alex Van Halen (drums) and Eddie's 16-year-old son Wolfgang Van Halen (bass).

Seems like the dirt that was dished at Metal Sludge might have been the truth. I'd still like to see Mike on bass though...

So what's the over/under on this tour happening?

Mike needs to be in there man..how you going to oust a bro that was on every record and in the band since '75!!

He's a big part of VH ..and he's very underrrated!!

You mean to tell me Ed had a more bitter falling out with Mike than he did with Dave..no way!

Mike was just sick of waiting and waiting not doing anything for years on end...ya can't blame the guy to go out and rock here and there.

Wolfgang on bass..what a slap in the face to Mike..nobody wants to see that kid..not any true VH fan!

Nothing against Wolfgang..but fuggums..let him play with Gene Simmons kid or Kelly Osbourne...or sumthin'.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
    Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

From what I've read around the 'net, the falling out with Mike was much worse than Dave. In the stuff that was posted on Metal Sludge, Alex said there will never be a day in the rest of their lives that they jam with Mike again. He just said it ain't happening. He knows most people are falling on the Mike side of the fence but he said most people don't know what's going on. So I guess Mike is out for good. It's sad because he was the sound of Van Halen. His distinctive voice on the background vocals. You think Wolfie can do that? He better not even try...

I do think it's interesting how silent Dave has been now. That alone shows something is going on...

Shouldn't Wolfie be in school in September?

Notice how Anthony hasn't really slagged the Van Halen brothers either? Heck, he even said something nice about them at the R&R Hall of Fame induction ceremony with Hagar.

I used to think DLR was the prick in VH, but it's really Eddie. Hate to say it, but I'd probably go see them with a midi keyboard doing bass lines just to see Ed and DLR out there again. it won't be the same though. The only real 'replaceable' member of VH is probably Alex.

Well, Eddie surfaces on the cover of Guitar World looking like a new man.
He IS a living legend - no matter what you say...

                      Mikey fukkd up.

I read that he was warned about going on the road with Sammy and he ignored it. This tour has been in the making for 2 years now - he was well aware of the implications...and guess what...backup singers are a dime-a-dozen to cover his high harmonies.

I guess when you get right down to it - people are not there to see Mikey pedal on a Jack Daniels bass. The money is too big here folks - and that is why Roth is keeping his mouth shut.

Everyone dislikes Wolfie. I wonder if he will breakdown and cry on stage....Poor boy.

Mike should be in the band. It's very obvious. Eddie wants it all, and doesn't wanna pay Mike. What a terrible mistake..

EVH+DLR is a combo I would pay to see anytime. I'll leave it up to them to choose their bass player.

Mike seems like a nice guy but it would be very simple for them to find a player who can play his bass lines and sing his harmony lines.

If EVH & DLR tour together, I will be there.

this should be the logo for the tour.
I say the boy ain't right!

I dont think its will make it. Im sure if wolfie pisses DLR off he wont stay quiet about it and Ed will always side with his kid. No MA so I wont be there. Van Halen is EVH,Alex,Mike,DLR or Sammy... No other substitutes for me........I'll pass
