      Mikey fukkd up.

I read that he was warned about going on the road with Sammy and he ignored it. This tour has been in the making for 2 years now - he was well aware of the implications...and guess what...backup singers are a dime-a-dozen to cover his high harmonies.

I guess when you get right down to it - people are not there to see Mikey pedal on a Jack Daniels bass. The money is too big here folks - and that is why Roth is keeping his mouth shut.
      I agree Jeff.

Eddie probably just wants his son to play on tour with him and was looking for any reason to keep Mike from touring. Plus I'm sure Eddie can pocket more money if his son plays instead of Mike.

All I can say, DLR had better get busy now to get his voice ready.
The last time I heard Dave, he sounded awful.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Mike seems like a nice guy but it would be very simple for them to find a player who can play his bass lines and sing his harmony lines.

If EVH & DLR tour together, I will be there.
No way!!!..I did that job for a couple years, and years before that. Mike has his shit together. Mike's grooves are 100% rock solid and he is one with Alex..Mike is the glue , drive and voice that connects Ed/Dave to the band..

I'm a very accomplish bass player..I can play ANYTHING on bass no matter how complex..and I'm tellin' ya ..Mike is a HUGE part of VH!

Yeah Mike's drunken solos are a silly staple of their set..but that is more of a show than a performance..even tho he starts off with a few decent licks...before rollin' around like Chris Farely.

I find it amusing that guitar players mostly don't concider Mike anything special but bass players have a lot respect for him.... I guess guitarists don't know shit about good bass playing

it's all about the pocket and the groove... the bass line on "The Push Comes To Shove" is fucking genius... Bootsy Collins style to the T

Van Halen's bass lines are easy.... until you actually start playing them

I'll believe it when I see them walk out on stage together.

I think Mike will be missed something terrible. I saw Megadeth shortly after Ellefson was booted, and Mustaine was great, but there was definitely a "missing element" there. This will be kind of like that, but much worse IMHO (on account of the backup vocals).

At this point I'll think this tour is happening when I see dates and they hit the road. I also just can't see Wolfgang in there... Its Michael or bust

After hearing DLR the last couple years, unless he lipsyncs (not a bad idea) I think it's gonna suck ass...

Check YouTube for some recent stuff of his. Terrible...

I'll bet that - behind the scenes - DLR is already giving Ed s**t about not having Mike. Just not saying anything publicly. And I'll bet that, in the end, this is the issue that tanks the tour with DLR, too.
