  • Sirius Suckage

My mom gave me a hundred bucks for my birthday and told me to get something music related. So I bought one of those Sirius satellite radio gizmos. I hooked it up using the builtin FM modulator since my factory stereo doesn't have a line input. The station list was impressive - lots of great music in all genres. Going through the FM modulator sounds like ass though. It's very low output and there is a steady hiss in the background. Apparently that would be improved using an antenna adapter gizmo - why wasn't that included in the CAR kit? Ok, so I resign myself to getting one of those because the stations are great and no commercials is even better. While I'm cleaning out the back seat the radio just dies. WTF? Nothing. Nada. Zippo. I call customer service and they say I need an all new unit - antenna and all. After the installation hassle I just said no thanks and told them to cancel my subscription. They were cool about it since the service had only been active for 45 minutes. They then offered to send me a free replacement - as in I could return the one I bought. Tempting. But fuck it.

Just another piece of shit made in China.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

It happens, sometimes things just don't work. It's like any electronic device, they always say keepthe box, because it it is gonna brake. It's gonna break in the first few days.

On a side note. I miss Sirius, I made the switch to XM after I got a new car and a Sirius adapter was not available for the new LAN system in the car. I refuse to use the FM modulator(that sounds like you said, ASS). I constantly find myself flipping through stations on the XM, where Sirius I always had it on one or 2 stations.

You should have also requested a reduced rate for your troubles. I was tired of XM so I called to cancel after some back and forth on their part, they finally offered me a year for $70, that's more than 50% off.

Hair Nation rules. That said, I don't pay for radio, but I was tempted the many times I have had a chance to spend hours with hair nation.

I have had it for a while now and I like it though my antenna did break. I listen to it on the computer though at work all the time. Buzzsaw and Hair Nation are the ones I probably listen to the most. Hard Attack too. Fruity names for stations though... lol.

We have it in our new car and I like it, but we probably won't keep it once our trial runs out. Most of what I would listen to on their I have on CD/MP3 player anyway. There are some nice stations though.

I just started my second year with Sirius.
When the folks come over I put the jazz station on.
They get a kick that there's no commercials.
