  • Any horn players out there?

I just bought a beat but neat coronet for $14. Two valves are little sticky. I know I should buy valve oil. Being the cheap bastard I am, I was wondering whether a few drops of Liquid Wrench would work. Me and my neighbors can't wait for me to start practicing.:ROTF:

A cornet for 14 bucks? You bargain hunter, you. Try some 3 in 1 oil if you have it or maybe sewing machine oil.

It tooted right away.:ROTF: It's really old and I am sure I will never be able to take it apart. So I was just thinking of LW on the felt. :ROTF: Sounds great, BTW. Made in the fucking USofA.

Now you can toot your own horn literally as well as figuratively! :ROTF: :ROTF:

I couldn't wait. I'm horny. A few drops of LW and a little lighter fluid seems to have lossened her up. As we wannabe horn players always say; "Blow Me".

Thanks. I did the quick-fix. I'm afraid to try and take it apart. It's really stuck. It's an old Ross and I know it's not worth anything. But, the one loose button produced noise right now at the thriftstore. I'll keep hammering the keys and my neighbors will love me.:ROTF: :ROTF:

I knew that you bought something for about 10-70 $ when I saw the thread.

It's a very nice horn. A few dents. Great patina. And I can blow my brains out. For $14, what more could you ask for?

                    For $14 I'd expect a bit of a suck.

I used to play the clarinet. I couldn't blow on it now. I have been smoking cigarettes for about 25 years. My dad annoyed the living and the dead when he tried to learn the trumpet. I played, or at least tried to play the clarinet until my pops got me my first KISS album in 1977. There went my hopes of getting first chair. DAMN YOU KISS...........DAMN YOU!

Well, I got the caps off both ends of the tubes. It's actually pretty clean inside. I got the keys to work well. Oh boy:ROTF: I have to practice my scale once I figure it out. Poor, poor neighbors.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

I'm good at blowing into the pussy... I'd love to play the trumpet but a lot of practicing should be done... and I'm not into that... my respect to those who play all that sick ass jazz trumpet, sax, clarinet or something else... guitar is piece of cake compared to that

I used to play baritone horn when I was little. Back then I couldn't understand the meaning of scales so I run out of interest and quit .
