      while you can't turn water into fuel very easily, H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide) is the base for the fuel for some small rocket engines.

        Ah well, looks like I'll get a diesel Mercedes and hit the fast-food places

            You can basicly run a Diesel engine off cooking oil. A short easy refining process for the oil is better and you should change your fuel lines, but anyone following your car will get a craving for some fried chicken.
