  • Song- "Time" LSD? hippies, fett,Tim

I was watching a show on T.V. about
    the 60's.
    Drugs, hippies and the establishment.
A song came on that I know well but I don't know who played it.
The song is called "Time" (LSD influenced)
It has a cowbell with reverb in the song and the chorus goes.
    Time.. time will come today
    Time..
the song slows.. way.. down... then speeds back up slowly.
    Time.
    Who Played it?
    Thanks
    Finn

It wasn't "Time Has Come Today" by the Chambers Brothers was it?

"Time Has Come Today" - The Chambers Brothers
    Time has come today
Young hearts can go their way
Can't put it off another day
I don't care what others say
They say we don't listen anyway
    Time has come today
    (Hey)

    Oh
The rules have changed today (Hey)
I have no place to stay (Hey)
I'm thinking about the subway (Hey)
My love has flown away (Hey)
My tears have come and gone (Hey)
Oh my Lord, I have to roam (Hey)
    I have no home (Hey)
    I have no home (Hey)

Now the time has come (Time)
There's no place to run (Time)
I might get burned up by the sun (Time)
But I had my fun (Time)
I've been loved and put aside (Time)
I've been crushed by the tumbling tide (Time)
And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time)

    (Time)
Now the time has come (Time)
There are things to realize (Time)
    Time has come today (Time)
    Time has come today (Time)

    Time [x11]

    Oh
Now the time has come (Time)
There's no place to run (Time)
I might get burned up by the sun (Time)
But I had my fun (Time)
I've been loved and put aside (Time)
I've been crushed by tumbling tide (Time)
And my soul has been psychedelicized (Time)

    (Time)
Now the time has come (Time)
There are things to realize (Time)
    Time has come today (Time)
    Time has come today (Time)

    Time [x4]

Yeah, until about the 600th time you hear the chorus repeated over and over in that brokerage ad that runs on cable all the time. Then it begins to sound downright ordinary.

Speaking of songs used in TV ads, there's one called Gatekeeper by a band called Feist that's used in a HSBC ad.

I know the risk of asking this on a Metal-guitar-brand board , but what is that genre called, and what other groups would have a similar style? I really like the singer-chick's voice, and there's no synths in it (and she does her own guitar work, so that's a bonus )

It sounds nothing like Feist but for some reason when I heard Gatekeeper I thought of Morphine. They had a couple of albums that were just outstanding.

I was there when that was released. Great song. To say we loved it would be an understatement. I think that dude on the far left is Steve Martin.:ROTF:

The Ramones did a cool version of it too.....

Get real, you pups. That song on a turntable with the '70's system to play it is something I have and will treasure. I just have to find my LP or get another one.
