I loved Sweden. People are friendly as hell. Take the train and get off at random cities. Gavle (pronounced yahv-vlay) is 1.5 hrs from stockholm and has a cool downtown area.
Bollnas is a small town 2.5 hrs North from Stiocklhom. Tad Morose, Bloodbound, and Morgana LeFay are all from there. Get to the "disco" in town on Wed or Thurs night for a good time (need to check the schedule, as I was there over a year ago).
Some good sightseeing. great beer. good food. The kabob stands kick ass, some very cool cafes, and believe it or not, the New Orleans place at Stockholm aiport has GREAT po'boy sandwiches.
Skal (pronounced skoal is "cheers", beer is ol - pronounced "oal"), and visa partarnar (vee-sa pah-tah-nahrrr (roll the last r)) means "show me your tits" !
Tak si mycket (tock-si-mee-khat - almost said like toxic mutant) = Thank you (or just tock for thanks)
Var sa god (var-sha-goo) = you are welcome

    Have fun !

I don't know much about Jönköping, so I cant help you. May I ask what brings you there in the first place?
Work. I work for Husqvarna Viking. I will be taking over some responsibilties of the Data Warehouse. Yeah, I'm an IT propeller brain, but it pays for the Jacksons, Gibsons, and everything else.

Btw, in the group of Swedish girls I hung out with, only 1 out of 5 was blonde One was really cute though.. Hanna Hillstøm.. great name.
Too funny - there is a very cute Hanna that works in Finance.....I'll track down her last name to see if it is her.

A "where the hell are all the Swedes?" bump.

What to do in Jonkoping / Huskvarna? I leave Friday night back to Arlanda airport.

I would look for that Swedish bikini team and get a Swedish back massage from them.
Then and only then I can die in peace.
Mr. Patience.... ask for a free consultation.

Sleep on a Tempur-Pedic mattress while eating Swedish Fish.
If you're flammable and have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit. Unless you are a table.

Can't help you with those towns, but if you have a long wait at Arlanda - hit that New Orleans place and have a few BIG Carlsbergs while having a po'boy... lol
Otherwise the shuttle into Stockholm is quick and cheap, right from the airport

I change trains in Stockholm on my way back from Jonkoping, so I'll check out New Orleans. It's in the central train station, correct?

Oh, I found where the Swedish cuties hang out. A coffee shop right across from the hotel. The place was packed. Unfortunately I'm twice their age (41) and look (unfortunately) like a respectable person (I work in IT, remember?). Wish I had the long hair and spandex (LOL! from the other thread). Also going into the bar solo doesn't work - the girls are always in a couple; unless I could score some two on one action:ROTF:

It is in the airport section of the train station. Go right upstairs, and it is on the 2nd level of the atrium.

If the girls are half your age, then you need 2 of them to makes it an even match !
Remember - Visa Partarnar ! lol

If you're going to Jönköping, you should definitely check the old ruin "Brahehus" out. It's not far, and I think it's awesome!

I took this picture 2 years ago: http://www.ruin666.com/annat/P6080005.JPG

Can't really give you any other tips... sorry. I rarely visit Jönköping. I hope you'll have a good time!

Thanks Anders. I did a google search for Brahehus (trying to find a map) and found this:

Any idea of what it means?

                              No problem!

It's a text about the planned construction of wind driven electricity generators (I don't know the correct term in English).

You should check this out, it's not too far from Jönköping, and really nice: http://www.grm.se/turistinfo/ENGELSKA/index.htm

If you have the time, take the ferry over to Visingsö! I was there 15 years ago, and I remember it being very nice!
