  • Damn Earthquake!

Im sitting here minding my own business with my two boys, then all of a sudden I feel the shaking. What sucks is you never know what's ging to happen. Is it just gonna shake a little or all of a sudden is shit gonna be flying off the walls. Well turn out it only lasted about 10 seconds and wasn't too bad. The worst thing about them is there is nothing you can do, go outside it shakes, go inside it shakes, no where to get shelter.

I live in Downey about 12 miles NorthWest of the Knotts Berry Farm/Disney area.

Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you yunick jelly thou!

Im out in the Inland Empire and it shook like a SOB. It was one small shake followed by a much larger and more violent shake. Im thinking we may be closer to the epicenter then you. I was on the phone with my bro who lives in the OC and he did not feel anything.

They're called aftershocks bro. They'll probably diminish in size for a few days. Earthquakes do suck though. The last one here was about 4.5 but I didn't feel it. I've slept through a 5.6. It was fun!
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

Yeah, my wife has family in Turkey. I remember that big one a few years back. Fortunately, they all live in the modern half of the city (Istanbul). As I recall most of the damage was in the older side. Her cousins in Bursa felt it too but had no major problems from it. No earthquakes here in NY!

There was some damage in Istanbul but the Marmara region was devastated. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_%C4%B0zmit_earthquake check the link. Glad to hear that no family members were affected.
