  • Great moments from the movies

What are your great movie moments? - I mean the real "Ho-ly shit!" scenes from movies that have knocked you sideways, brought a tear to your eye, or that just stick with you for whatever reason.

How about in From Dusk 'til Dawn when Salma appears as the snake dancer, and the road movie turns into a vampire flick?

Or at the end of The Usual Suspects - Verbal Kint walks away, stops limping, and we all go "Ohhh shit...."

The mothership appearing over the rock in Close Encounters?

Four little words - "I am your father..."

I could go on for days, but I'll stop now and give you guys a chance.

My favorite scene is when Rudy runs out on the field after busting his butt for 2 years on the practice squad. I loved that movie. "youre 5 foot nothing, a hundred and nothing without a speck of athletic talent but you hung in with the best team in the land for 2 years" I love that movie.

Even rockers can be sensitive types...
I'm always touched to the soul at the end of
"It's a Wonderful Life", the town and even the auditor
donating the cash to save the bank, and especially when
the bell jingles on the christmas tree and the lttle girl
notes that an angel has just earned his wings...
        I never miss this movie.
And Donna Reed is a hottie, I think.

Lost in Translation had many great moments.. "Why do you have to point out how stupid everybody is all the time"..

The scene in Azumi where they have to kill their best friend was pretty intense.

Piano scenes from Corpse Bride; when Victor plays solo and later when he does the piano duet with Emily.
"I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"

            I've got two...

            1) Scene in Schindler's List where the workers are saying Goodbye to Oskar Schindler, and he breaks down saying that he could've done more. Gets me everytime.

            2) The Porch Monkey scene from Clerks II....cracks me up everytime! There's a lot in Clerks II that is memorable and funny actually.

I love the scene in Jaws where Roy Schieder (sp?) says "you're gonna need a bigger boat".

+1. Although it's probably hard for many people to understand now, especially young kids, that was a major "holy freakin' s**t" moment back in the day. I mean, use your imagination for being back in the day for a moment...

                      a) You don't know all the back-story history of Star Wars that is known today. All you've seen was that first movie and that part of the second one that you've experienced up until the point of that line being delivered.

                      b) You and your friends at school - even the jocks, heads, etc - talk about SW all the time. Up until that point, Vader was the bad-est mofo' your young mind could comprehend. Evil personified. And you weren't even sure if it was a guy in a weird armored suit, an alien, a robot or what.

                      c) It's 1980 and you're - what? - probably 11 years old or so. "Daddy" had an entirely different meaning at that age than now as an adult.

                      d) He'd just cut off his Luke's freakin hand!

That s**t - a brief scene itself - sure messed with a lot of our young heads at the time.

The end of Pay It forward when everyone comes to the house and you really see the impact of what one person can do.

Lots of parts in the Green Mile. Mainly the part where Hanks shakes the big boys hand and he sees he really was innocent.

Tin Cup when Roy Mac makes a twelve on the last hole of the U.S. Open. Great golf movie.

Inner Explosions, when my Ol lady starts to... ooops, sorry wrong movie.LOL

                          +1, that was good.

But, how about the openning scene in the Star Wars (episode IV)? If you were in a theater seeing that Star Destroyer for the first time, it just blew you away!

I remember watching that scene when I was like 7 years old and my brother said hsi reaction had been the same as mine "This is universe changing"

Every scene from the Christmas Story was a classic. Unicron eating Lithone in Transformers the Movie was pretty badass too.
