Man, I was flipping through the channels the other day and saw some new crap show on MTV called Celebrity Rap Superstar... Sebastian Bach was one of the contestants. He said his 14-year-old son and friends are into rap and he can't get away from it, so now he's trying to rap like an idiot with a bunch of other famous people.

The latest 'scene' fashion around these parts is to have you trousers under your arse so that you pants are in full view. There is a name for it but I'm too old to understand these things any more. To be honest, I don't mind the whole "Emo" thing the kids have today..it gives them an alternative other than "rap"..Let 'em dye their hair black, dress in black, paint their nails black and write ditties about how unfair life is at the ripe old age of 14!!!

I never understood why the "priviledged" quickly embraced the ghetto lifestyle myself. The media is a VERY powerful tool..for tools.

Thank the war metal is back..seriously, metal was forged during Vietnam..people haven't change a lick since..so.

It's nothing "political"..no matter if you support/protest the war. It's a dark climate to live in. So, we identify with dark music be it metal..screamo...emo...or black polka such as Finntroll!!!

Can't really discuss/play "WAR" while sippin' gin and juice.. therefore "metal" makes for a good soundtrack.

Some have attempted to debate me on the "Nu" vs Metal thing. It was NEVER Metal, which is MUCH easier to see today. True metal is always pushing the envelope of virtuoicity. Not just guitars/shred..but vocals, bass, keys, drums ..production and song writing as well. Nu was Grunge dressed in Metal clothing.

Nu is extremeley dummied down music, too much for my liking. There is always a couple good bands that come with each TREND, such as this "Emo"..Grunge, Nu, yada.. Like the obvious bands that emerged from Seattle.

Metal's core and mindset hasn't changed since the days of Sabbath. It evolved and it will always remain, be it mainstream or underground. Unlike a "trend" it'll never go away. Trends always show their age like the 70's and disco..true metal is timeless..put on some old Sab, Preist, Maiden..ect and see!

Emo will sound silly and dated even to it's own fanbase in a short time...like any trend.
