  • Linux software

    Hi,
    I recently got so impressed with CentOS linux that I had to skip my XP. Anyone know of any decent guitar/music related software for Linux?

    Can you narrow down 'music software' a bit?

      Maybe something like Sound Forge/Acid and a drum machine. I have found TuxGuitar (www.tuxguitar.com.ar) and I have read about Hydrogen (hydrogen-music.org). But I don't know if they are any good.

        Audacity maybe?

        Download Audacity for free. A free multi-track audio editor and recorder. Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, multi-track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. Audacity is free software, developed by a group of volunteers and distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

          CentOS is great. Have a look at these distributions though they may save you a lot of time as they will have all the audio stuff you need installed with them;

            That Top-10 looks very interesting. And I guess it is also the easiest way to go.
            Now I just have to choose which distribution to use. Any recommendation?

              Adobe Audition 1.5 now works OK in latest versions of wine (www.winehq.org) V2.0 doesn't... yet.
