  • I'm having a bad guitar night.

Ever have one of those nights where everything sounds like shit? I practiced tonight and wanted to smash my fucking GNX3.... because it sounded like ass. Then I went straight into my amp and it sounded like I was fucking a cat.... several times I muttered to myself that this fucking p.o.s amp is going out the fucking door. Then I couldn't get my dick beaters to cooperate with what my mind wanted.. So now I'm listening to some Maiden which I must point out is THE Best Metal Band..

It happens to all of us. Sometimes my amp which usulay sounds great. Just sounds weak and lifeless. Even with my favorite guitar. I call it the weather element. Humidity in the air changes how the sound waves come off the speaker. Which dulls certain frequencies and only the strong survive. So yeah it happens to all of us.

I was gonna say the exact thing. Remember yesterday it rained like
      a bastard,and now today it's a 180* turnaround. I've always thought
atmospheric factors can screw with your sound.

Yes, Maiden is the best band.

As long as you have good tone, it's hard to have a bad time playing.

Ah hell, that happens all the time. Usually, after about 10 minutes of strangling the cat, I come to the realization that things are just not gonna sound good and I go do something else.

that's funny, now that I have my Vetta I never have this problem.

I sound good every time I plug in so usually I'm locked in from the first 5 mins jamming.

my issue is that if I had a few beers I cannot play as well, and that can be frustrating, so I just know to take it easy on those before rehearsal or jam time.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I have this problem too. I don't think it's down to weather, at least not entirely. It's really how awake and alert you are, and your mood can also affect how you interpret the sound.

I hate it that people who are drunk can still play better than me.
