Thanks everyone! Life is pretty decent right now... my 24th year (technically, it's the 25th if you think about how your first year begins when you are out of the womb) should be a huge one! Suddenly, in the past two months or so, things started steamrolling for me.

Some of you guys know I recently realized my ambition is to have a career in law enforcement (see Cleveland Metal's thread "Wish me luck!"). So I'm awaiting my aptitude test results in the mail although I'm pretty relaxed and confident that I passed.

I also recently joined a band and we had our third rehearsal today... been a while since I jammed with anything other than backing tracks on a CD or with my brother!

I also started a new job this past Monday after a period of unemployment... aside from waking up at 5:30am, it's pretty good! It's my first time working with animals (I never had any pets or prior animal care experience) but this is opening me up to something completely new and enjoyable.

I swam all summer, but I recently started working out heavily at the gym. I generally have a pretty good metabolism but I now benefit from added vitality as well as preparing myself for the physical requirements of police work.

I learned about spiritual enlightenment. It sounds cheesy and loaded with hippie mumbo-jumbo from an outside perspective, but I took it seriously and the benefits are astounding. It's pretty deep but the basic premise is learning to let go of the mind and its inherent thought loops, which frees you to enjoy the present moment and realize from within that you have it pretty damn good at this particular instance in time even when external circumstances may be crappy (debt, poor, lonely, stressed, anxious, scared, stuck in traffic, etc.).
