Computer whizzes?

This new Windows Live Messenger is giving me some trouble.

I simply CAN NOT activate "pictures" (the ones beside your name in your chatbox)

Whenever I go to: options>extras and I check it and press "ok" and go to options>extras again, it is UNCHECKED. (It must uncheck it automatically??)

Also, whenever I want to choose a picture off my own computer, it tells me the picture is "not a valid picture" (any picture I try).

These two problems are probably interlinked.....

MSN messenger 7.5 didn't have these problems, but I can't go back to that...

I hate the Live Messenger. It's all stupid. I want to be able to use the 7.5 again.
