On Saturday night, Van Halen held a dress rehearsal for their upcoming tour at the LA Forum. Long story short, they played a whopping 26 songs including *every* song off the original debut album as well as the standard hits plus some very deep cuts like "Secrets" and "Beautiful Girls." This was the first time Dave and Eddie (and Alex Van halen) performed together in 23 years in front of a crowd. Only about 50 people in the invitation only crowd were there to watch and from all accounts, the band is looking to kill onstage. The unknown factor, Eddie's 16 year old son Wolfgang played bass and sang some backup vox but apparantly doesn't make you forget original bass player Micahel Anthony isn't in the lineup. Roth and Eddie apparantly appear to actually be friends with each other, there was zero tension between the two. NO Sammy Hagar songs are in the set.
