  • Perspective and age

I'm 57 and I have been around long enough to have talked to just about anyone in my family and others who was born since 1900 and up. I stay young by the old and the new. I have done this way before the Web. Here is a suggestion. Find the oldest fart in your family and listen to what he or she has to say. You may learn something about life.

The one thing that breaks my balls is it seems that the lack of listening to older people have cast a school of anchovies in a world of sharks.

my perception of age is that you are too old and need to be in a home

fett, I'm 43, I'm right in between what you think you know, what I've seen, and what "they" ought to know. If I've learned anything, it's that, no matter what I have seen, I'm never too old to learn. Old folks have as much to learn from the eyes of youth, as the other way around.

When we start "teaching", then we really get old.

            cliche, but, my two cents.

I don't teach or tell. I offer up a chance to talk. I read the posts and try and read the people that respond. I have been busted more times than walnuts on a belt. But, if Mayday has implied that I have worn out my welcome, I will leave.

Don't go! I've fallen and can't get up.

Besides....what would we do without our perpetual topic starter?

fett, we lisen, but will never admit it.

I talk to my father, I listen a lot, as well as the older folks that are in my wife's family. But nobody who is younger than you, or I are going to feed your "id" by saying you know anything at all. It's how things move forward.

I'm 35... old enough to know better, too young to care.

Yep...Kev's post meant nothing to take to heart. C'mon fett.
But back to your point..I have lived and learned. I know life is short..I have lost many, as I'm sure many on here have too. I listen to people who have been before me, and those that are coming up behind me. And all I'm SURE of, is life is short, and I have to make the most of it. Both of my parents died in thier 50's. I'm 39..hmmm, hope I don't follow in their footsteps..but in case I do..I LIVING MY LIFE NOW!!! It is MY life, and I will live it as I see fit. It may not be up to other peoples standards etc..but it's MINE. So, live, have fun, live right, and enjoy your short time you've been given. Even if you live to be 100 it's nothing compared to the big pic.

Age means NOTHING. I thought I knew suffering, pain, drama ect. Then I spoke to a great YOUNG man who knew more than I. He taught me something about "life"!!!

                            Read my sig..
