  • Name three songs that influenced you to pick up guitar!!!

I saw a thread like this somewhere else and thought it might be interesting here.

    Here's mine.

Judas Priest - Screaming For Vengence
    Judas Priest - Electric Eye
    Motley Crue - Live Wire

When I was about 10 years old, 1982, I received Judas Priest's Screaming For Vengence and Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love for my birthday. I was now a metalhead and wanted a guitar. I finally got my first guitar in 1984.

    So, what are your 3?

      Led Zeppelin: Whole Lotta Love

Queen: Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Dunno about the rest. I was heavily into Punk so probably something by Pennywise, Bouncing Souls or NoFx.

          I can't name "songs"..Because I love the whole record.

          Black Sabbath Paranoid

Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush Live

          Van Halen I

That put the guitar in my hands and paved the way for things to come.

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Can't break it down to three single songs, but I can list a band or two.

                        VH, VH, VH.......
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

                              Metallica - The Four Horsemen

                              Scorpions - Still Loving You

Def Leppard - Rock of Ages / Photograph / Foolin' (I know, not epic guitar songs, but they were in such heavy rotation early on in MTv's formative years and they sounded pretty heavy compared to most anything else MTv was playing)

Ozzy - You Can't Kill Rock n Roll (had to throw that in there as my inspiration to keep learning although I didn't discover the tune until after I started playing).
