The CDN dollar is expected to overtake the US dollar in value. This is good for us cross-border shoppers. Lots of shit is just plain cheaper in the US and some stuff you just can't get up here, so with the dollar at par I can head down to Grand Forks or Fargo and get some cool shit and take the kids on a little road trip too. Plus you're now allowed to bring $400 in goods back without paying duty (fucking rip off - what ever happened to "free trade") if you stay in the US for at least 48 hours. Much better than it used to be.

The dollar will rise again around Xmas.

Why? Because I will go on vacation to the US around that time.

The US Federal Reserve Bank dropped their interest rate this week and our dollar goes on par. Thank-you Chairman Bernacke for making my next guitar or amp a little bit cheaper.

A high Canadian dollar sucks for me, 'cause it means the US stops buying our lumber ........to make a long story short, with the dollar where it is I should be losing my job again right shortly.....YAAAAAYYYYY!!!!!!!!
I'm not into hell.........I just dig the soundtrack.........

80% od CDN business is done with the US, and 80% of that 80% involves a US parent and a CDN sub. For CDN people actually doing work, a high CDN dollar sucks. For CDNs living on welfare or working for the government, its a good thing. It all depends on perspective. All CDN contracts for export are in US$, so if you envision a country working for the government or living on welfare, you would happy now. You'd also be a commie.........
The US$ decline has more to do with the Capital Account of the US than the war. The Capital Account deficit is a result of the Clinton era, not the Bush era. It has resulted in the US over printing its money and increasing the supply of that money beyond what the market wants. The Us is fucked, but it has nothing to do with what people think it has to do with. It can be repaired, but it is not a quick fix...............

Maybe that's a good thing for me. Every time I go to Home Depot to buy lumber, all they have is shit. I'm talking warped, twisted firewood. That's because all of our decent lumber goes to the US. Don't believe me? Go across the border to a lumber yard, and check out the beautiful 2X4s you can buy. Straight as an arrow, hardly any knots, and guess where it comes from? That's right, Canada.

"It's a Free Puck". I have 3 non-guitar auctions going. The only questions I have received are: "What is the shipping cost to Canada?". You can't Buck a Looney (sp).:ROTF:
