I'm with you Bengal. I do support troops and the initial decision to go back to Iraq. A lot has changed since then and I'm for getting the fuck out of there. Its a no win situation, give them their country back and let them do whatever the fuck they want with it, whether its a democracy or dictatorship I don't really care. We're dealing with a different mindset of people, we don't know who the ememy is, its a different playing field. Way too many of our young people are dying for really no reason as Iraq will become whatever it will become with or without us there. Someone mentioned the 3000 people killed on our soil on 9/11....to me there is no difference in Americans dying in NYC or in a sandpit hell hole we call Iraq.

We're sending way too many weekend warriors over there because our military is depleted. My neighbor is in his early 40's, father of 6 kids, business owner, but now he's in the armpit of the world fighting for what? cheaper oil? Democracy?

I wonder if there were as many supporters of the Vietnam war back in the early 60's? This seems to be going down that road. I wonder what those that think that way will be saying after 10-15 years and over 50K American Troops dead, God forbid it goes that long...

Yep, it's those National Guard Soldiers that I really feel for. But they knew the deal when they signed up. But I can't believe they thought they would be fighting in Iraq so we could cheaply gas up our cars...

Yeah, I had to edit. I tend to forget. Sadly, seeing as I was born in Colorado...

I'm sure you find it more fun than I do, seeing as how I try not to do it. But then again, it's easier here isn't it? Wouldn't be so easy talking to someone face to face I suspect...

The real reason that we have to baby sit the middle east is that a few oil tycoons are raking in huge profits and they need the Habibs to sell them the oil. If we just did nothing about Iran and its Nuke program I gaurantee Isreal will destroy Iran if they actually get a bomb. If Isreal attacks Iran you can bet there will be a nasty war there. We need to drill for oil here.

I used to throw out a line or two on some of my threads. I would offer the bait and let the frenzy begin. Then, I would pull up a deck chair and sit back and watch, for the most part. It was fun for awhile. But, thowing chum is something I never did and watching SPD do it proved me right.
