Happy B-day Sully you bastaaaad!

thanks guys, my birthday is in fact, today. thank you for the well wishes, but my biggest wish was that this weekend was going to be anything but the heartwrenching hell that it has been so far.

i learned yesterday afternoon that my greyhound, charlie, has bone cancer and her last day on earth will be monday. i saw the xrays, and it was horrible. she's only 8, and it's just tearing me and my family to bits.

5 years ago today i had a house full of ten greyhounds, (my friends brought theirs over to the house) and it was one of the best days i've ever had. 5 years later, and here we are. it's not enough time.

my plan for today is to spend as much time with her as i can, and go and get one of those pawprint makers and then later design it into a tattoo. no manny's tonight, though; i don't have the heart for it.

i'm sorry to be debbie downer on your well-wishes, and i truly thank you for them. some of you got to meet my little girl and know how awesome she is. those that haven't, here's a few recent pictures of her:

we just got home from helping her cross over. my original hope was for us to be able to spend time with her this weekend, and help her cross on monday, but she let me know that she was ready.

she helped me through some very difficult times in life, and was part of a lot of joy in our family. the house is too quiet now.

I'm really, really, really sorry to hear that man...what a load of downer news no doubt. People sometimes laugh but pets become regular parts of the family just as people do and we grieve just the same as if we lose a human counterpart.

Hang in there Sully...both you (and you family) and Charlie are better off for knowing each other. World existence or lack there of cannot take the time and joy Charlie brought to you guys. Something tells me Charlie is gonna be there for YOU when its your time to cross on over just as you helped him....mission acomplished from this side 50-60 more years for you tho

I think you must know how I feel, Sully. My wife and I adore our mutt. We often lament the life of those animals that give us the most have the shortest time with us. Enjoy your days, and be proud of your time together.
