I know exactly how you feel - I know you read my story abour our Dachshund Gibson. He did the same thing; he let us know he was ready a few days before we had planned to do it.

Sorry to chime in late Sully Happy Birthday , & for what it's worth I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Some people think yeah it's that thing that messes up the yard & rolls all over the carpet, but they really become a big part of the Family.

Sully, I am very sorry in hearing this. Its terrible to lose anything or anyone to cancer as I lost my cat 5 years ago this month in a shortlived cancer battle. I was just thinking of her last night, I miss her still.

yesterday, i got a paw impression kit and after a few tries, i got a great print of one of her paws. i plan on having it inked on my arm someday soon.
