I was watching a really pretty gal sing like a dream with a great band. I had no idea who she was, but the music and the playing was just great. It was Faith Hill. I'm in love.:ROTF: The dinks with the leather cowboy hats are funny. And who the fuck is Kid Rock? And why does he show up as much as he does?:ROTF:

A lot of good talent has come into country music lately. But the songs still sound formula based, to me. Plus they added 80's-90's pop rock marketing to it. The shows look just like Def Leppard from the early eighties.

They sound "Pre-Mixed" to me too. But what they are doing is Live MTV. I know most of it is a TV production and a bunch of hype with the crowds. But, some of those bands play quite well.

Thank Garth Brooks and Shania Twain for that - especially Shania! Her husband-daddy Mutt Lange is the guy who built the Def Leppard wall of sound and he found it worked real well for his sweet Canadian hottie too!

A lot of those bands are staffed by rocker dudes who got too old to make it in rock, but you get an extra 10-15 years to try if you play country! That's why the new country sounds like the old rock!

Then there's the female country singers! Shania, Faith, Sara Evans, Carrie Underwood, Jo Dee Messina..... easy to look at even if the song doesn't really grab you.

CMT can be pretty good with the sound turned down. There's some serious eye candy on there. Modern mainstream country music is just about as pathetic as mainstream pop. Here's something worth turning up the sound for:

That stuff is NOT Country music. It's a bleed into mainstream. And for what it is and for what is is worth, it's not half bad.

Yeah Fett, lots of hot country chicks - Shania, Faith, Deana Carter, Carrie Underwood. Although they are more pop-country than straight-up country, which isn't a bad thing
