  • I need a new dig camera

I have a bunch of stuff to sell that need real closeup pics. My Fugi Finepix is OK for the big stuff. But, I have to take pictures of dials on cameras and record labels. I don't need a mega-camera. I just need one that will see the fine print. Help me here. Thanks

My Olympus does a good job in macro mode, and it's several years old. I think the important thing is to have a high level of optical zoom in addition to the megapixels and digital zoom features.

That's what I don't have. And the Macro is the ticket. What Model do you have?

You all know how cheap I am. So, I will find the "One" on ebay. As in an older model. I don't do new.

I use a Canon PowerShot S400 for close up pics.
Nice quality pics and they are not really expensive at all.

I picked up a Powershot A550 not too long ago. A lot of camera for not much money. I didn't need the bigger 2.5" display of the A560 and since that's the only real difference between the models, couldn't justify the big jump in price, and so I grabbed the A550 instead.

Ill 2nd the Canon cams,I have a 8.0 MP (A630) has "macro" mode and is app $265.00 or less now.Great bang for the buck.
It sometimes takes too good of a pix (like can see lint, dust etc.)

you need a way to hold the camera still if you want to see fine print - that is the most important thing beyond just good enough zoom

We have a sony cybershot dcs-w50. it works great for closeups. It even picks up the stamps on jewelry.

I can't thank someone too much. Here's a test pic using the zoom in my room at 12 ft.

Canon powershot- any, as long as it has macro.
