This first time I saw them..fucking INCREDIBLE!!!..over 90 minutes of their dynamic, ass kickin' shit!!!
When Cleve-John and I saw them..TERRIBLE!! Mike A (Acidfeldt) laughing/talking/trippin' between songs...we waited up to 5-15 minutes for a tune...WTF!!
Mike EXTREMELY high and happy! He just kept mumbling shit in the mic all night. He just kept talking to himself and laugh..talkin' to his guitar and shit..in a "Steve Wright" monotone way..Mike stay off the A when in Cleveland !
It was amusing to see him in a great mood, and attempted to be "funny"..that shit got old fast!! We all have a bud who can't shut up when they're really really baked..but they're not in Opeth.
I have all their cds..fuggit!"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

I've seen them 5 or 6 times, and they've always kicked ass. Their Damnation show in 2003 remains one of the best shows I've ever seen.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

They are a magical band. Their music is just so musical and I love the balance of light and heavy stuff with them. I've seen them live twice. They are a good band live but a bit short on the movement front that most people are now used to, so people ind that boring. The music makes up for it in spades.

I love Opeth! I have all their albums. Got hooked onto them after listening to the song "demons of the fall". Except for their slow/acoustic songs like 'Patterns in the ivy' and stuff, I like all their heavy songs. Blackwater park is my fav album!
I bought the Boss GT8 after finding out that Mikael uses it. Best decision I've made yet.Sam

Fantastic band! I got into them when Blackwater Park came out and have since purchased all of their albums and seen them live four times. I enjoy Mike's rambling on stage, so to each his own
Favorite album is My Arms, Your Hearse, with all of the rest except for Orchid tied for second, then Orchid in third (the songs just have no structure on that album).Scott

Anyway, they are a kick-ass band!I've got Morning Rise, Still Life, Deliverance, Damnation, Ghost Reveries, and the Lamentations DVD. I'll pick up the others eventually.
I saw them live back in 2000, when they opened for Nevermore on the DHIADW tour. I really wasn't into Opeth then and didn't pay much attention to them, though.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

They are amazing. One of the very few the-whole-cd-is-great bands left. The songwriting quality and depth is very rare these days. I can see how people would find them boring, longwinded proggy structures and all, but I love every second of it. Seen them live twice. They were great both times.Demon of the Fall live is worth a whole show by other bands. Dont really like Morningrise, but everything else is great.

Anyone's tried to learn the song "Black rose Immortal" ? That is one amazing song. So many riff-changes within that one song. You can create at least 5 songs with each of those riffs in that one song. Opeth is a really inventive band.
Reminds me of the Icon album by Paradise lost. Lot of changes within songs.Sam

When I first heard them about 4 years ago I didn't like em at all, mainly because of the vocal style. Eventually, though, they grew on me and now I think they are pretty awesome."Quiet, numbskulls, I'm broadcasting!" -Moe Howard, "Micro-Phonies" (1945)
