Gary Moore & Friends, One Night in Dublin, A Tribute to Phil Lynott

Picked this DVD up yesterday. With the unveiling of a statue of Phil Lynott 20 years after his death, Gary thought he'd pay tribute to his friend by getting Thin Lizzy together to play a show. He managed to get Brian Downey, Eric Bell, Brian Robertson & Scott Gorham along for a jam. And prove that he can still wail out front of a proper rock band. Great stuff!

It wasn't the same not having Phil there to sing but GM does a good job. Gorham/Moore on Black Rose. And of course, Parisienne Walkways to end the show. Awesome!

I recommend all you Moore & Lizzy fans check it out, if you haven't already.
    Hail yesterday

    G..that sounds awesome!!!

I saw a classic TL show w/Sykes on VH-1..supporting the Tunder and Lightning..damn, I enjoyed that. Phil is proof you can groove your ass off on bass using a pick!

Sykes and Moore are incredible..that goes without saying!!!!

Most of my old friends thought I was nuts for loving Thin Lizzy. I thought they were nuts that they didn't!

Now I'm going to play classic Gary Moore for the hell of it today..Dirty Fingers, Coridoors of Power, Victims of the Future ect..!!

    Cool!

Wow, thanks G! He got Brian Downey on stage?!! That's great news. I've seen Lizzy a couple of times the last two years... they are (and were) a great band. I also saw them back in 1982 on the Renegade Tour!! Man, I need to get that DVD. Gorham + Moore + Downey! Wohoo, my overall favourite band

I got it when it came out - abso-fucking-lutely awesome...Moore's chops are unreal now...

Lynott was a severely underrated song writer and bassist, his groove was MONSTEROUS...been listening to Thin Lizzy's catalog daily at work for the last month, my partner thinks I'm nuts... :ROTF:
Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

            Scott Gorham-Guitar, Vocals
            Darron Wharton-Keys, Vox
Marco Mendoza is playing bass, vox
            Tommy Alrdidge-drums

I has John Sykes solo release "20th century" and Gary Moore's "Run For Cover" on LOUD today..life is good!

            I've been in a re-descovery mode lately.

I trying not to hear any new thrashy stuff, so it won't stick in my head when I writing. I'm actualy putting my spin on some of these pretty familar classic riffs..you still can learn alot from the 'ol masters!!!

            Gary Moore / John Sykes..hail!!
