I know there was other female fronted bands that rocked hard..Girlschool, Warlock, The Runaways with Joan Jett and Lita Ford who rocked on "Out For Blood" which came out in '80/'81. Pat Benetar brought it to the masses..then she got went commercial with "Love is a battlefield"..she looked like she was forced to dance and was if I remember, it wasn't her at all..

I wasn't around in the 80s, but at least from how well known they are now, I'd say Savatage. Best band you've never heard, with one of the best guitarists (Criss Oliva) to play the genreComment

Holy shit, Anvil. I forgot about them, (Strength of steel) Awesome. Another is Armored Saint they had some really good stuff, as well as XYZ, Y&T, Steelheart, Bang Tango, Helix, Moxy, Triumph, Max Webster, UFO. Shit they come in groups and at this time i've exhausted my brain cells for the day.
