George Bush has been slowly reversing his position on this matter towards supporting Gore. Bush! He is the epitome of ignorance, stubbornness, indifference, and belief systems entrenched in superstition. When an ignoramus like that is embracing new ideals at a faster pace than you are, that should serve as a wake-up call (I'm talkin to YOU JCF dudes!!!)

Funny, but there was recently a large Conference of US Mayors that came out with a list of ways to help curb the threat of global warming in their respective city governments. The result? A new reason to invade personal property right and raise enormous amounts of funding for public transportation. Conspiracy? I think not. The GW "issue" is a tool to gain political power at many levels, and Republicans don't seem to want to get left behind, whether there is a threat or not. Why does it seem so important to the UN, when there are much more direct, immediate threats where that organization could better use their resources? Because it's a great tool to beat over the heads of the capitalist societies they love to hate. This scam is a great historical reenactment of the Church going after Galileo because he used observation and scientific method to suggest that the Earth was not the center of the Universe. Why did the Church care? Why do politicians care? It's all about the power.

The overvotes weren't any more invalid than the undervotes. Some examples of overvotes would be if a ballot had a candidate for Pres. marked and the same candidates name in the write-in spot. Or an overvote on a different part of the ballot than the presidential vote.

I don't disagree with you here about Wikipedia. I only posted that link as it had the results from the media consortium summarized pretty well. In that article you will find links to a couple of journalistic sources with the same information. I believe it was the Orlando Sentinel that originally started counting the overvotes. The funny thing is that Gore only wanted to have the undervotes counted, and he would have lost the recount this way.

Indeed it would be. Based upon Bush's immigration policy, they should have voted for him

My hat goes off to the Admins for letting this thread ride. Maybe, we all can figure out how to approach "senstive topics" without all hell breaking loose.

I try to post my positions as in a trained debate, no personal attacks, using facts at my disposal. I appreciate a healthy debate, if I can be proven wrong on evidence, so the debate continues. It's a sport, and I appreciate the tolerance of the JCF admins for putting up with us.

Well, I'll say it again .While I won't relive that thread that created the "PC Sticky.", I am glad that we have matured so much on this Board, all the way around, that we have "Room".

The overvotes were just as invalid as the undervotes. Counting them at all towards one candidate or another is just creating an outcome based on fiction.
