The reason he won the Nobel prize about this is because this is going to be a big issue going forward. Personally, I think it has been unfortunately branded as "global warming", it should be called "global climate change" as the theory doesn't state that temperatures everywhere will rise uniformly, it just states that average temperatures, taken over the entire planet, will rise. This is apparently true, and even most people opposed to taking any action will acknowledge this. The new position of the anti-action crowd is that global warming is good:

The question in not if temperatures are rising, but if the cause is man made or cyclical.

The "models" the so-called experts use don't take into account, or have major trouble, in how cloud cover, refective surfaces (such as ice and water), and biomass effect CO2 production and use.

Biomass includes things like...green plants that ingest CO2 to live.

How can anyone take seriously computer predictions when they can't account for such import variables?

There is a growing number of scientists who have major disagreements with this "theory", we just don't hear about them because the media is heavily slanted to the left, and this is a major platform for the democrats.

And let's give all the credit to Al Gore and his carbon offsets. I mean if I owned a large number of shares in a company selling carbon offsets, I would be crowing about global warming as well.

Yeah if you listen to both sides of the debate it gets very confusing very quick. Each can counter the other's findings well. I personally have issue with how the studies are funded with grants and what have you. It opens everything up to special interests. You have to look at it all scratching your head and wondering if the conclusions are not influenced because of how they got their funding.

Is it me, or is the new trend in US Politics geared towards making Obama, Hillary and Gore appear more like folk heros and not like politicians.
