+1 Saw the first showing today, thought it was very good. It definitely has a different vibe than the originals and some quirks, but overall a pleasant surprise.

I'm a lapsed Trekkie and a cynical and very hard-to-please old bugger. I wanted to see this movie, but was kind of expecting to be let down....

That being said, I spent a couple of hours grinning like a loon.
It's very good - best Trek movie yet, by a long shot!

Don't sit around waiting for the DVD...

It's been 14 years since I began my movie theater boycott.
            Jumangi was the last one.

I'm feeling weak, want to see this movie in a theater!

Star Trek is one of the reasons I've been scared to get into sci-fi even though I love Kubrick, Tarkovsky, and cyberpunk a la Blade Runner

I saw it yesterday and it was a great movie.
I was concerned about it after JJ's last flop (can't remember the title but it was the movie that gave me motion sickness, I left about 35 40 minutes into the movie) if he could pull it off and he did.

JJ's Star Trek is a great movie.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Spike, it was 11 years for me. I actually talked myself into going to the Theater as I was driving there. I told myself if I don't see it now the first day, I'd be watching it on DVD. (Hopefully BluRay).

It's worth going. I was able to go on a weekday morning without a bunch of screaming kids and folks munching up a storm on popcorn behind me.

Did I say it, it was worth it.

I broke my boycott! Waiting for the next Star Trek installment. Maybe another 2-4 years.:ROTF:

I saw it yesterday and I guess I'm on my own here. It was a fun space action movie, but it was definitely not a Star Trek movie. Something was missing. I have to admit that they did a great job of acting like the original cast though.
