  • NorCal Police/Fire scanner frequencys needed

    My sister and I have been searching for hours trying to find Scanner
    codes for our Dads new scanner.
    Can anyone help?
    Northern California
    Alameda County
    Hayward, and San Lorenzo, needed
    Police, Fire, CHP, County Sheriff.

    If any of those departments are somewhat modern, they may have moved to digital trunked systems. Basically, if it's digital, you can't monitor it. If it's it's just trunked, then it's a pain to listen to.

    Alameda is trunked.

        Theyre really fixin that... Pretty hard to monitor \"most" departments these days... Most are encrypted digitally.

        Yep, starting academy TOMORROW mornin!

                  If It's Digital,Then you have to buy a Digital Scanner,which is Kinda expsensive(~$500+)

                      Out of curiousity which scanner did you get Finnman? Just because a system is digital doesnt mean it can not be monitored. If the scanner is p25 compatible you can listen to most Motorola systems. If they are on an EDACS provoice system you would be SOL.
