  • For all of you lucky and ungrateful....

hug your father today. You don't now what you have until it's gone.

Not all fathers are the best. Some are downright nasty and some are the worst enemy you could have ever run into.

But the majority are IT, the best. I've got to believe that.

Maybe it is the Blue Moon six pack spekaing or maybe it is soft Jose leaking out.

Love you Papi, wherever you are. Think of you every day and miss you horribly on football Sunday. Hope to see you again some day. Love you.

My father passed away 10 years ago this past January. I talk to him everyday. He was only 50 years old. I will see you again.

Mine falls into this category. He continues to fuck me over after he's finally dead and burried.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Now, you are going to make me cry. I got to know my dad really in the '70's. We used to go to A's games and other stuff. He died in 1982 at 59. He did not get to see his grandson, Keith, who was born in 1983. That broke my heart. My son doesn't know his mother. She died when he was 5. I have to go now. I can't take this.

Fett, all I know you as goof around here. That's all, we are here to have fun as well aren't we?

At least you got to go to A's games with your dad.
My only arguments, if you could call them that with my dad wre for him to relax and take time off.

Time that I WANTED so deperatedly. I wanted him to take an extended weekend vacation and go to a Bucs game, maybe a Devil Ray game. He was 63 when he dided and all he did was work work work.
I do not resent him for that, he was trying to provide for my mother and us eventually.
Call me whatever you want, I just wanted to have those Norman Rockwell moments. I wanted my Dad. He left after a quick strike from cancer.
I love him and I miss him beyond words.

For those of you have had a sour relationship with your father, I am truly sorry. Learn fro it and be the best fatehr you can be for your children. Please, if you love them.

Sorry for my spelling but I am going into the Bass six pack by now.

I had my moments with my dad. My childhood was OK. My mom and dad took a hands-off '50's-'60's form of raising. And that may be what has made me what I am today. Nah, I blame me for being a toad. But, for those few years, I actually got to know my dad. Can't I be a goof with feelings?

I lost my Mom at the moment of graduation out of high school. It was at that delicate moment that I became my Dad. He loved her so much, he was lost. I still talk to him frequently, we don't agree on many isuues politic or religious, but he knows he is first in my heart. I never miss a chance to tell him what he has taught me, even if he doesn't always remember those old lessons, as he was carrying the rest of the world on his shoulders. Love You, Dad, no apologies.

Joe. See what you did? You got us to think about our parents. We are big boys and girls and we don't need this shit. For me. Thanks

Lost my mom in 72 just after my 20th birthday and my dad in 88.Miss them both. My dad was a hard ass in a good way he installed a hard work ethic in me and I'm grateful for that.My mom was cool she would go drag racing with me and every now and then she would ask me to twist a fattie as long as the man was not home.
I got in my share of trouble and my dad kicked my ass several times until I got the message.
By all means if you still have your parents tell them you love them.
BTW Alvin tell your dad thanks for giving his all over there.

I certainly will. Living in Lexington, Ky, you may be familiar with the town of Middlesboro, Ky? That is where my father is buried. Our family is from Pineville, Ky and Harrogate, Tn.

That would be cool, thanks! He is actually buried at the cemetary on the hill across from the Wal-Mart in Middlesboro.
