  • Bush can speak, after all

Just watch his press conferences, live. When he is not reading a prompter, he's quick, and articulate. I'm watching one right now, and he's kind of pissed, I think. Too much garbage coming out of congress, and misrepresention in the US press has gotten him going.

The CPI is also coming down and projected to come down. I think he knows something about economics too!

Of course, there a plenty of people out there that never doubted him for a minute regardless of what the libs say.

What was your takeaway? I spoke with him in Florida 2 years ago at a DHS meeting...short, but he came across as nobody's fool (to me).

I think he's not as nervous speaking now because he can't get reelected next year.

George is a good ol' boy and he speaks like one. I'm sure he is intelligent. I'm also sure that he has had a group of "Old Pros" guiding his presidency. His problem has always been he has listened too much to the "Pros". His legacy may be less about the man than who he listened to.

See, I'm not as dumb as I look.:ROTF: He got where he is somehow. God knows, he didn't do it on his own. But who has?:ROTF:

Just remember someone writes his scripts. He doesn't write his speeches. No prez haa done that for decades. The spin doctors have done George II a great disservice(sp). It would have been a gas for him to really say what he really feels. In a backhanded way, I feel sorry for the Kennybunkport cowboy.:ROTF:

I know his problem. I can read very well.
A 300 page book in 4 hours is not a problem.
And I can read a prompter.
But to truly speak, and speak well,
I cannot use notes, or use the prompter.
That's how these three awards came about.

Oh, and a little help from the JCF community.
