Indeed, my lungs are killing me now. Just like the the last one we had a couple years ago, but further north (away from my house).

We're safe (save the immense smoke), but my partner lives in Olivenhain (next to Rancho Santa Fe) - we went up there mid-day to water everything down (again) - it was so dark from the ash that we had to keep our lights on driving up there. Hoping that the place survives - he'll be one bitter man if it goes up in flames...
Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

      Shit happens.
      Doesn't matter where you live.

It's sad that some beautiful places are disappearing right now.

Not to worry Californians, New Orlean's Mayor Nagin is sending unused school buses to help with the evacuations.

I'll take a 2 minute shake to what is going on down there. San Diego, other than the actual city, is just a bunch of mesas. The slopes are just covered with brush.

And now the Media Hype starts. Just report the fucking news. That should be enough.

We "Report", You "Decide", and we "Profit" from the "Ratings"

              All pretty much BS...

Legitimate, so it isn't a "rant".

The "drama" the media tries to create is fucking unreal.

What ever happened to reporting the facts?
I don't give a shit about what the reporters personal feelings or opinions on the matter are.
A picture is worth a thousand words.... I prefer them to be my own.

I don't what you last 3 posters are on about; the media are doing a good job of reprting this IMO. Too good, the TV is like All Fire All the Time

I guess you don't watch CNN Ron. (It's all I can get while I'm at work)
To them, the world is ending and all of southern Cal. will be a wasteland by the end of the week.
                    It's pathetic.

Let me clarify... I'm not insensitive to what's going on out there. I've got friends that are darn near the middle of that. But the media does tend to get carried away with some stories...

My wife has a good friend that lives in Santa Clarita... he and his daughter were evacuated last night and are back in the house tonight.
A little scorched on the edges, but all is good.

My family vacations every summer in Carlsbad and I would hate to see the place get torched. It's beautiful over there.

I love the place and it's sad to see so much of it go up like this.

I just wish the news would ease up a bit on the dramatic reporting.
The CNN graphics are a prime example of the over dramatization of the events.

News titles like "Mass Migration" really... do they even know what the word means?
