Everybody involved with this song needs a beatdown, but especially the guitarist for ripping off Third Stone, not to mention that fucking smirk on his face.

          Ain't that the truth.

When that album was released, I heard that Paul actually played lead on the songs instead of Ace. That solo probably solidifies that rumor.

It is well known that Ace only appeared on the album cover to appease the record company, and likely didn't play a note on the album.

And Bob Kulick must have been busy.

Good article on Wiki about Creatures of the Night, and who all played on what songs.

I now return you to your previously scheduled thread.

OK I love CC and there are worse ones out there, but the solo on "Unskinny Bop" really blew.

Perhaps it shows how much I suck, but the main riff is what kicked my butt for a while, until I stopped trying to pick it, and just pulled it off.
The lead is worthy of the post, though.

Even Jeff Beck has his bad days, the solo in Tina Turner's "Private dancer" for example.

The song was written by Mark Knopfler but he wasn't available to play the solo during the recording session so Jeff Beck was brought in and he fucked up really bad. Mark Knopfler to this day keeps on claiming that "Private dancer" has the worst guitar solo ever.

The solo in Cult of Personality sucks. Great tune, pitiful solo.

Haha, that made me laugh. I was taking guitar lessons back in the 80's when that tune came out. I thought that solo kicked ass, and brought it in so my instructor would break it down for me. His lesson consisted of "don't try to play like that, that sucks". I was like "Really? Oh ok, thanks!". :ROTF:

I don't know - it's better than the solos in the couple of other LC songs I've heard

The ending "solo" to TNT by AC/DC always sounded like some kind of guitar going through a trash compactor. The solo to Turbo Lover by Judas Priest is weak too. I agree with Cult of Personality and We're Not Gonna Take It too.
