  • S.O.D. > Anthrax

I was just watching some live S.O.D vids on Youtube. I almost forgot how damn good these guys were. Basically the good parts of Anthrax (rhythm guitar and drums) with Billy Milano on vocals. Crushing guitar, the usual superior drumming of Benente.

I especially like in this one how they break in to Raining Blood near the end.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

    Nice!

SOD spray monkey piss on anything Anthrax have done. No faulting Scott Ian's rhythm guitar, he has one of the best, erm, right hands in the business. So to speak. On "Speak English or Die" I think his guitar tone still gives me wood to this very day. It also kills me that the only guitar solo on the whole LP is done by Charlie Benante, and it's passable!

Check out "Seasoning the Obese", it might as well be Slayer.

BTW Zeegler, nice avatar, AssRapeMan lives!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

    I nearly broke her back

Yes. I should have mentioned Dan with his very unique overdriven bass sound that fits in perfectly with the rest.

...and Ian's using his NOT Jackson (or at least one of em). It's cool how the bass played the harmony part of the Slayer riff!

My band Aftershock opened for them a bunch of times back in the old days of The Rising Sun in Yonkers, NY.

            They kicked much ass.

I've gotten many an odd look from older people as I'm sitting at the stoplight with "Sgt. D & The March of the SOD" cranked to high hell with the windows down. I think "Milk" is the one song I always listen to most from that album.

Fucking hell, would you want a big fat knacker like Billy Milano stage-diving from a PA stack onto you???? I'm surprised there weren't fatalities!

When I saw SOD a few years ago people in the crowd were diving off the balconies. Insane.

SOD rocks! I dug up an old pic from my first concert in 1987... Anthrax's Among The Living Tour (Celtic Frost and Exodus opened). Met Billy walking around and had this pic taken with two of my friends. The chick was someone there selling candy at the show. I'm the short guy with glasses. LOL I was 14 or 15.
