    fett,

    You ever see one of those gizmos for ties that are electric powered and spin the ties around a loop so that you can find the tie you want?

    Just throwing some ideas out there - I want a cut of the profits LOL!

      Fett you need to get some of those boards like they have at GC and get the angled hooks like this

      I bought 2 boards at a garage sale for $5 and have 9 hooks that I bought on ebay.

          Guitar storage

          Fett...I see a SHIT STORM coming by storing your guitars this was - As was mentioned by others, as well as some of my PERSONAL feedback...

          1}... HOW do ya keep the bridge/Floyd/whammy bar/hardware from a guitar sitting BEHIND another from putting SOME kind of "road rash" on the guitar in FRONT of it ?

          2}... Although Physics is NOT my STRONG point - consider THIS...the DEEPER you STACK them away from the wall - then EVEN the LEAST little bit of weight or pressure to one side or the other on those LONG-ARMED rack bars gets MULTIPLIED - BIG TIME {think a nail-pulling bar or a crowbar}...one ounce of lean - either way - by one or the guitars sitting at the outermost end of those rails - is gonna BLOW the fastening end screws/anchors CLEAN OUTTA that wall {JUST like a crowbar would}...AND the sideways momentum of THESE several guitars hitting it's NEIGHBOR rack-full of guitars is gonna COMPOUNDED - OVER and OVER...into an UGLY game of DOMINOS - A/K/A - 45 guitars = ONE - VERY EXPENSIVE load of FIREWOOD for the summer house wood stove !!!

          3]... As was mentioned by someone else - WHAT if ya wanna play the 4th one BACK in a rackfull ???...first, guitars leaned up to get back to your target {leaned against WHAT, too ???...a WALL ???...furniture ??...leaned up = BROKEN FIREWOOD"}

          4}...When I had a ba-zillion guitars, I used to keep about 3 or 4 dozen in guitar stands...making for Mother Nature/slobbering Doberman/forced air heat/air conditioning to create a TON of UNNECESSARY WORK for me...as in - restringings, neck adjustments due to humidity changes, and - if NOTHING ELSE - the PAIN in the ASS to dust and/or wipe down/clean guitar finishes {and risking SCRATCHING, etc} that is like painting the Golden Gate Bridge {start at ONE end 7 days a week - 365 days a YEAR - take Christmas Day off - and go BACK to your starting point and do it ALL OVER - AGAIN !!!!}

          5}...Unless your Summer home has ADT Security, a BAD-tempered 120 lb. Doberman that LOVES the taste of raw, WARM human LIVER, AND you pack a .45 auto 24/7 {ALL of which I have/do...And actually - I DO INDEED have a "Summer home" - UNFORTUNATELY, it is ALSO my "Fall home", my "Winter home" and my "Spring home" as WELL - LOL !!!}...then WHY do you wanna SHOW some turd, crackhead THIEF - WHAT he can STEAL ??...ONLY makes it look like a BIGGER TAKE for those SCUMBAGS...Ya DON'T leave your Rolex sitting on top of the dresser that's RIGHT NEXT to the WINDOW - DO YA ???...

          Ya MIGHT as WELL get a flashing neon sign with arrows, that reads "GET it while it's HOT, DIRTBAGS !!"

          NOW...IMHO - {and ESPECIALLY if ya got enough cabbage to own TWO HOMES}...I STRONGLY RECOMMEND investing in HARD CASES for ALL your guitars - and storing ALL but the couple you are gonna play that day...in the cases - set UPRIGHT {like sliced bread} in closets or less obvious humidity-controlled areas - with tags...

          THAT WAY...LESS DAMAGE...LESS adjustments...LESS cleaning...LESS THEFT !!!

          {after all - YOU know what ya own - IF ya DO find the need to SHOWBOAT them - get wall-mounted neck hangers, or floor stands - and DO whatcha gotta DO - and GOOD LUCK !!!!}

          PS - to EACH his/her OWN - BUT...as said before in this thread - SOME QUALITY...is SURE SMARTER than storing and owning TONS of QUANTITY...PERSONALLY - I've trimmed/rethought/redone MY herd from 100+++ axes {which included BUNCHES of mid-level stuff - along with the SUPER-SA-WEEEET guitars}...to a couple of dozen VERY COLLECTIBLE TRUE JEWELS - that value ONLY goes UP, UP, UP on...they PLAY BETTER as well - and as we ALL KMOW...you can ONLY PLAY 'em - ONE at a TIME !!!!}

          ...just my HUMBLE opinions - by the way...

            For now, I'll just stick with what's there now and see how they hold up. Thinning the herd is my intent, but I have to have some order. I move the guitars a few at a time in a way that no one can see what I am doing. The next step is get a good lock for the bedroom door so the bastards would have to break it down. The bedroom is only 15 feet away from my regular trailer. And thanks for the input.

              You OBVIOUSLY don't know Fett. 98% of these guitars are worth LESS THAN $200. His summer home is the TRAILER next door that his NEIGHBOR sold to him. Your use of CAPITALS is STRANGE.

                      An update. Like you people care. I put rubber tubing on the tips of the goal posts. And so far, everything is stable in my stable.

                        Get some 1/2 inch rebar, put eletrical tape on it, and anchor it to some metal, or use some 1/2 inch all-thread, and electrical tape it.

                        It's bargain basment, and stable!

                          You're breaking my balls here.:ROTF: I try to do the right thing and get my guitar life in order. My regular life sucks. I'm cheap. Damn it. And I am not going to buy guitar shop walls and hangers. I consider my "Coral" a perfect place. It's a 12X12 room. I can treat it like a smelly cigar smoker treats his cigars in a humidor. I can control the envirornment. It sure as hell beats having guitars in every room in the house.

                              With the amount of guitars I have they have to have the floor as a base. I wouldn't want my Summer Home to implode.
