That's not my point. You are correct. I have never bought a Hamer. My point is that guitars used to be made by a few factories with there own build specs. Good, bad or whatever. Now, the individual "Names" are going to built by one "Big" factory. That just doesn't sit right with me. So, I will stick with buying older guitars.

no you don't. if it says FENDER on it, then you own a fender amp. just because FMIC is the parent company doesn't make the product a fender. does a jackson soloist say fender on it anywhere? sure, stratheads have that little sticker, but because ANOTHER company is using fender's trademarked "design"....

I disagree. The small buliders can't compete. Parts are parts. Wood is wood. They can't buy them in bulk. So, they pay up and the fact that their labor costs are probably 20X the "Mega Company's" will price them right out of the market.

Well like someone else said it's happen in all industies. What I can't get over is no one made a big deal about the Exxon Moble merger! Thats Bullsh*!!! They let that happen. Hamer and Ovation are just a small portion of Kaman's business. The bulk of what they do is sell accessories (picks/strings/sticks and everything else you can imagine) to dealers.
