Hellyeah's CD was great, as was United Abominations. I think I'm going to give it to United Abominations. Hate on Glenn all you want, it was a solid Cd. I liked King Diamonds new cd a lot too though.

Overkill. Though, you might consider Randy from Lamb of God to have cookie monster vocals, and he does add some vocals to the third song of the new Overkill CD.

Type O Negative - Dead Again

            Their best album in years.

Haven't heard the new upcoming pagan's mind yet though, will get round to it as soon as I have some $$$ to spare.
I hear you man..It's harder than ever trying to keep up with all the stuff out there new. I meant DeadSoul Tribe (typing too fast) I have three Murder of crows, S/T and January Tree..I have to get lullaby for the devil.

I like the last couple Eldritch releases too..best ones they put out.

I do like the last Megadeth..best one they put out in a long time IMO.

King Diamond and Megadeth are far from the "best" of 2007 tho.

That's a great album. I have the past Dead Soul Rite cds..Buddy lackey. Tell me you have the four Psychotic Waltz albums..Mna, I love that band!!!

The new Pagan's Mind is coming and so is Pyramaze with Matt Barlow..

Too many great cds to pick from.

What'd you think of the new Between The Buried And Me? It has some cookie vocals, I know you're not a fan of those, but these guys just blew my mind...masterpiece album imho.

Oh, I LOVE harsh vox, depending on band/music..

I didn't care for bands such as.. As I lay Dying , KSE, BTBAM, and ect when they came out. But since metal is "cool" again, bands that gave up or didn't have a true metal heart is now employing this formula/mindset. Which is cool, but I like bands that were "true" from the start, when it wasn't popular..if that makes sense. Alot of people would hear a band like Soilwork, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquility or In Flames and think..wow they're ripping off Kill Switch Engage, As I lay dying and so on..in fact it's quite the opposite..

What I don't like is the whiny "mushy" chorus parts, that's not "metal" to me. That was trendy and doomed from the start. I try to keep trend and metal seperated..so that it never dates itself, such as "nu" did. What I loved 10 years ago, sounds like what alot of bands are trying to sound like now. But bands such as In Flames shot themselves in the dick trying to appeal to Americans..Doing their best Johnathan Davis/Korn impression. They've learned from that fatal mistake.

I love Machine Heads first "Burn my eyes" cd..but then became "Nu", and then returned "true to form" when it was safe to do so..that stuff kinda bothers me.

To be honest I haven't heard enough of BTBAM to give a opinion. I didn't like them a few years ago. I don't know where their head is at these days. With any true metal band, that is NEVER a issue..be it Iron Maiden Judas Preist, Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Nevermore, Arch Enemy, and the underground stuff we listen to. Even if I am disappointed in a metal band's release..like the latest Iced Earth or Arch Enemy..all is not lost..it's still speaks to me because it is metal, and will reveal why I love 'em in the first place.

All this melodic thrash stuff came from Sweden and the Bay Area or whatever..bands like Lamb Of God is a marriage of Slayer and At The Gates, they drew from those wells, like many bands today. Water that down with screaming/ whining kids playing guitars and you get a byproduct such as emo or core stuff..which don't bother me, because I don't listen to it. Hopefully, some of those kids will evolve and become proficient enough to hang with the bands that are actually their T-Shirts..it seems their hearts are in the right place...and like guitar, drums and ect...better than pretending to be ghetto and sporting asscracks...think about it, why would dudes show their ass to other dudes..prolly a prison thang

So, you are better qualified to tell me if I like Between the Buried and Me..knowing what I like. I'm assuming since you're both credible and mentioning them..I would like em !!!

Matt Barlow used to sing for Iced Earth. Now, Tim "Ripper" Owens, formerly of Judas Priest, sings for them.

Mats Levin sang for Yngwie at one time.

Not sure about Jorn Lande, but I've heard of him before.
