I never liked him. Despite the uproar. He's a no-talent hack,
and has been for a very long time...and that's why he was thrown overboard
so quickly by the NBC people.
I don't like the double standard that got him fired, though. That's what gets me going. If it's ok for the smarmy type libs to throw accusations against what they would like us to believe conservatives do, and say,
then it should be ok for anyone else to point out the hypocrisy of the
people they say are "the underclass", or "victims of society".
Stop throwing accusations and teach people how to stand up on their own, instead of blaming problems on others. That's the "culture" that got him fired.

I wonder if one of his first guests should be Dog the Bounty Hunter?

          Al Sharpton

I much prefer Howard, but haven't heard him since he went to Sirus.

No apologies here, I like the crusty old bastard and I will listen to him again. I don't agree with him often, but I did like his show. He had a way of asking questions of guests who are people in power that other reporters would never dare to consider, evoking some pretty interesting (unprepared) responses.

He was chased off the air by protesters, most of who probably never watched (or even heard of) his show. NBC folded like a house of cards, all they cared about was looking good.

No talent? Yup, that is why he had just signed a new multi-million dollar, five year contract. Boy, NBC must have been losing money hand over fist hosting his show...

There were all kinds of pundits and Network guys that just couldn't wait to get on his show. They will be back with a vengance. And what perfect timing.:ROTF: The '08 Prez thing.:ROTF:

True...but there's little doubt in my mind that fear of the politically correct types helped throw him overboard. And his lack of being able to draw much of an audience, outside of WFAN. Fox & Friends was consistently beating him in the TV ratings.
How many other, more successful shows and commentators get accused of similar behaviour, and never get the boot? That's the hypocrisy I am referring to. The same PC crowd fume and villify the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Glen Beck, Laura Ingraham, and so on. But they smelled blood in the water with Imus, and NBC capitulated in the whole charade. Imus said something off the wall, but he always did, and it's just a case of how backwards things can get, in a PC world. So when are the same accusers going to be held accountable for the lies they purvey, the damaged lives and careers, or the wiilling mainstream media who perpetrate those lies? No justice, in that world. Because personal responsibility doesn't apply to them, or the "victims" they pretend to help.
History will tell us how successful those Rutgers players will be.
History will also tell us what will happen with the Duke players.
The two incidents are snapshots of what has happened in this time.

Why all the wordiness? We need Imus a hell of a lot more than Cobert or Stewart. I hope he gets back on TV.

I'm worked up. Unrelated. I was stuck in traffic for an hour and a half today, and I left work an hour early. Normally a twenty minute drive. Some masterstroke of genius had the interstates shut down for two hours to accommodate a ten minute motorcade from Ft. Jackson to the Airport for the President. Striaght interstate drive, BTW. And Zero traffic reports on the radio, anywhere. I backed up to try to get around it five different places. Everyone else had the same idea, and then the secondaries were choked.
                      I apologize for the rant.

Bottom line, I'm not a fan of Imus, but I got ticked that he was thrown overboard like that.

We did the original Imus thing a long time ago. In fact, I started the original thread.:ROTF: That's why I am so happy he's back.

If you don't like how Imus was thrown under the bus, blame his sponsors or NBC's sponsors. That's who threw Imus under the bus. Not the "Liberals"...

All the talk about this incident had very little to do with it. It was money, plain and simple...

I visit lots of political sites, left and right (being an independent), and one thing about Imus that is fascinating is that the right generally supports him, and the left generally vilifies him. Check history at RedState and Daily Kos if you want a taste of it.

Ok, given the above, then why didn't Imus calling the president and vice-president "war criminals" on an almost daily business piss off the right and hearten the left?

                            Go figure...lol!
