I read about memorial tattoos in an article written by the Seattle Times (or Post-Intelligencer? hell if I know... I work there.. I read em both and never remember where I saw it!) and someone had mentioned mixing the ashes in.... so I started googling away to make sure it was safe and not likely to have a reaction from (any more than any other regular tattoo!) and decided to go with it
We actually hit up a tattoo convention not long ago and every artist we spoke to said that they had no problem with the ashes idea, and most had done it a time or two before.
Why? How could you know? I had to ask too. Toejams reaction was kinda heavy, but it seems Donald Swanstrom is realy missed, and he was very loved
@Lori: Those tattoo's are seriously beautiful! The reason why you got 'em makes them even more beautiful
What you said regarding Wes' posts is true, but it is still a good gesture that he expressed regret for any offense. when you're talking about someone's lost loved one, it never hurts to err on the side of apology.
He did well to make that gesture, just as Fett and others have to let him know it's forgiven. Donny was the epitome of the brotherhood that that forgiving attitude represents.
Toejam was likely feeling protective of Lori's feelings. Lori is new to our brotherhood as love for Donny is our common denominator. That is also understandable if you think about it.
Lori, those tats are very beautiful, and mixing Donny's ashes was a great idea! He's literally with you forever and always, physically as well as in your hearts and souls. He would love 'em!
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.
I've been coming around, and I missed what happened, but have read on the posts what I can.
I see a lot of people get remembrance tattoos, and it helps them. I've got nothing against tattoos (i've got a few), but the fact of a tattoo "memorial" makes it that much more special.
I lost a dear friend to me, and I sometimes wonder things like, did I go too long without thinking about him? And I feel guilty about how I feel and such. It's hard to explain.
Anyway, I think that the tattoos are great. Don't ever forget the good times with a person you love. I'm not saying loved, because that means you don't anymore. My friend Eric has been dead for a few years, and I still love him.
Dang, a Kramer and not a Jackson. Naw just kidding, nice tattoo!

Hey this is METAL. You don't need to roll with your homies and G's in a fkn Bentley while sippin' Cristal. You want to eat food that makes you want to curb stomp people. McDonalds delivers that. At least they weren't throwing back flapjacks at the Denny's across the street.
