I have got to agree with the OP. Maybe it makes me a communist, but I think that our liquor laws are retarded too. In our state, there is no alcohol sold on Sunday morning. Apparently god has a problem with it or something. However, when an NFL team came to Charlotte, apparently god found enough leeway to move the Sunday morning ban back an hour so people could get schnockered for the game. WTF?

man, why do people come to Australia and bitch about the flies? And the heat? And the hot topless chicks on the beach. People come here to check out the Great Barrier Reef or the outback or the Sydney Opera House or Surfer's Paradise and then bitch about everything....
Why do American's travel the world and then bitch about how they can't get a New York Cheesesteak just like home? Why do people holiday in third world countries and then bitch when they get the runs? gods forbid you go somewhere and discover that it's not quite what you'd imagined.
and just in case anyone misinterprets this post as anything else than a bit of funning, I'll load it up with a few smilies Seems some folks were so busy draping themselves in the flag they overlooked the sarcastic wit (and the smilie) in Freyr's original post.
I think I've said here before that I've found most of you colonials OK, it's just unfortunate that there are just some right twats amongst you who bring down your general regard outside your borders.
I bet most of the ones obsessed with big guns, lack a big gun themselves.
Can you see what I did there, can you, can you?Fwopping, you know you want to!

Just to add PA's laws...liquor and wine are sold in stores owned by the state. Beer is sold only through licensed sellers and then only in cases. To get a six-pack or less you need to go to a restaurant. They just recently let these stores be open on Sundays, but it's super-limited hours, like 12-5.
You can imagine my amazement when I travelled to Germany. There were guys drinking beer in the train station at 7AM!Scott

Having tasted what passes for beer* in America, you might as well put water in with the hard stuff.
Now some of the micro-brewed stuff is nice, but the run of the mill shit I had in most places there. Ikk, you should shoot the anheuser-busch people, they are selling you their wee!Fwopping, you know you want to!

Yeah drinking in the morning is taken here as a sign of a drinking problem
Completely OT: Nova Scotia is a fantastic province. My family and I took the Cat over from Maine and had a great time driving around the southern part of NS.Scott

Man I love living in AZ.
Beer, Wine or the hard stuff 7 days a week.
Available from 6 AM to 2 AM Mon - Saturday. You get 4 hours to sleep it off before it goes on sale again.
Sunday they make you wait until 10:00 AM before they start selling.
And yes... Buttwiper is horrible beer that smells like old socks.
I prefer Guinness myself.-Rick

Speaking of which... if you're ever in NS again, goto the Olands brewery... awesome stuff there.
